Live from London: Anti-aging Product Launches Fight Inflammation and Oxidation

Decleor LabThis year’s Professional Beauty London, which was held on February 24-25, was all about innovation and new technology in professional skin care. Aromatherapy brand DECLÉOR  unveiled its redesigned and expanded hydrating line Hydra Floral.

[ comfort zone ] featured a nature-inspired display and a treatment room dominated by wood, green plants, and reflective clear glass. This display served as a backdrop to the newly launched skin care range of products infused with a longevity complex, hyaluronic acid, and retinol. [ comfort zone ]‘s  skin regimen range is comprised of six products specifically targeting hydration and aging, and is also recommended to be used in conjunction with food supplement pills rich in Omega-3 and vitamin E. Dr. Davide Bollati, the company’s owner,  has worked on the range in collaboration with a team of doctors and researchers, who recognized inflammation to be among the primary causes of skin aging next to oxidation, free radicals, glycation, and sugar.

France-based Caudalie presented its latest anti-aging product line Premier Cru with a face and eye cream. The line uses its signature grapeseed polyphenols, which are said to hydrate and protect skin from free radicals in addition to the star ingredient, Resveratrol.  According to Harvard School of Medicine – as quoted by Caudalie – Resveratol is the primary anti-aging molecule which helps reduce inflammation and prevent oxidation, thus extending the cell lifespan.

Clarena, a leading Polish professional skin care brand, made its U.K. debut at the show with a wide portfolio of products, including a unique offer of amber stones face massage with Eco Amber Stamps. Clarena not only offers a wide portfolio of skin care products, but also a face roller system and a multi-functional professional skin care device. Established in 1996, the company is already present in approximately 18,000 beauty salons in Poland alone.

The professional nail arena was heavily attended by nail professionals looking for new trends and products. There were plenty of eye-catching offers from CND, OPI, NSI, IBD, and NuBar, among others. This spring, professional nail is all about bright pastels: pink, lilac, lime green, and baby blue.

This year, more marketers presented professional beauty devices. These multifunctional devices utilize the latest technology to offer short treatment time and noticeable results, including thosefrom 3D Skin Tech, Chromapeel, Dermaco Pro VX, and Syneron Medical.The use of at-home beauty devices is increasing, but they are also embraced by salon owners who are looking to attract consumers by offering unique treatment options. Marketers of professional skin care brands are implementing the use of professional equipment in their branded salons – for example, SkinCeuticals (L’Oréal) in cooperation with Solta Medical.
